'Singapura-pura' is a National Day speech that is given out yearly publicly before the celebration of the nation independence. This work is reinterpreting the idea of speeches that is addressed to the public. It is a performative piece where the figure is seems robotic in its movement and the script that scrolls in its background seems to morph into something hypnotising.

In My Fellow Singapura, Asanul Nazryn portrays auditory speeches into a physical sculpture. Naz collected National Day Messages audio speeches form 2008 to 2014 of Mr Lee Hsien Loong. He extracted only the intro of each speech from each year of 2008 to 2014. The audio sounds are the introductions from each speech, which he exports it into a 4D rendering software to create the 3D outline of the speech. This creates the geographical landscape map of the speech.

A life of a ‘penguin’ going through the normal routine of waking up, going to work, free time, and going back home. The whole cycle starts again over and over again, until it comes to a point when the penguins questions itself, “How did I get here in the first place?”

“Train rides tend to be crowded and mundane. The lights and tracks in these tunnels when in motion create an illusion that seems to transport you to another dimension, that seems as an escape from time and space.”

Francois Delsarte (b.1811) saw that movements involves a "semiotics" - a sign system that can be "read" by observers. He recognised that the physical "signs" come from various sources - some gestures are ours alone and express our individuality.
In 'Singapura' my works explores the idea of Identity by re-performing Singapore's National Day Message. The figure deals with the performative hand gestures. This performance is accompanied with landscapes and scenes of Singapore of the past and present that reflects on the message of the speech.

Singapore’s National Day speech is about the overview of Singapore’s progress and current state. I wanted to try and transform these speeches from just an audio description of Singapore into a landscape visualization.

Children of the State illustrates how a figure of important status can be able to influence a whole nation.
Part of an independent group show exhibition titled "Withstanding", Change is and inevitable consequence of the passing of time and can be subtle conversion or a sudden upheaval. Inspired by and dedicated to the venue itself, 'Withstanding' proposes the exhibition of a group of young artists who tackles the concept of progression, resistance and the temporal through diverse practices. Moreover, it examines the definition of and what qualifies as time-based art, which in itself is a profusion of various forms. The works included seek to reflect upon changes that are internal as well as external and environmental, capturing a landscape of contemporary circumstances.

Children's Knowledge of why Singapore consist of different race and religion is my main view about evil, their response are affected by the people that surrounds them, feeding them with generic notion of people. Kids are seen as a reflection of their parents. So if they are naughty or racist, does that mean it is because of the influence that their parents have, or because of other reasons. Does that make them evil? Or just an innocent victim of this evilness?.

Public transport is the main mode of transport for most middle income Singaporeans. As Singapore’s economic growth has accelerated in recent times, the population has kept pace. Public transportation is now more crowded. The Land Transport Authority works to resolve these problems by adding more buses, trains and train lines to expand the reach of public transportation.
My work explores this idea of development through posters, the primary means of communication in public transportation. Posters provide a glimpse into the future, presenting information about improvements to the system in an aesthetically-pleasing manner. Will the future live up to what is promised?
